A poorly secured Wi-Fi can put your personal information at risk. Keeping your router password protected and changing the password regularly are essential keys to protecting your network and your data. Here is a step by step guide on how to change your wifi password.
Steps
- Launch an Internet browser and Open your router setup page using its default IP address –192.168.0.1 / http://routerlogin.com /192.168.1.1
- Enter the router user name and password when prompted.
The default user name is admin. The default password is admin or password depending on your router.
Netgear Router

Go to Wireless > Security Options > Select WPA2-PSK [AES] > Now enter your preferred password in Passphrase in a Basic Tab.
D-Link Router

Go to Wireless > Wireless Security > Security Mode set to WPA2 only > Pre-Shared Key: enter your preferred password.
- Click the Apply button and reboot your WiFi for changes to effect.
