You can easily export and save your chrome bookmarks and it helps when you buy a new computer, you want to reset chrome or you want to switch to another browser. Here’s how you can export and import Chrome bookmarks.
How to Export and Save Your Chrome Bookmarks
- Open Google Chrome on your desktop or laptop.
- Click ⋮. It’s in the top-right corner of the window. A drop-down menu will appear.
- Hover over Bookmarks. This will open a pop-up menu.
- Click on Bookmark Manager. It will open up a list of all the bookmarks. You can also directly open the bookmarks manager by chrome://bookmarks/ in your chrome browser tab.
- From the Bookmarks Manager, click ⋮ on the top-right corner next to search and then click on “Export Bookmarks”.
- Select a destination and click Save to save the exported bookmarks.
Note: Google saves your bookmarks in HTML format. You can import them into another browser or view its contents by double-clicking the file and opening it.
How to Import Chrome Bookmarks
- Open Google Chrome on your desktop or laptop.

- It will open the computer’s Open file dialog box and prompt you to load a file. Choose the HTML file you saved to import your Chrome bookmarks.
- Finally, select the saved bookmarks HTML file and click Open. All your bookmarks will then be imported.
