Google Sheets has added some great functionalities. It also included to easily insert a checkbox in any cell with a single click. Here is how you can insert a checkbox in Google Sheet.
Steps
- Open the Google Sheets that you want to insert the checkbox.
- Select the cell in which you want to insert the checkbox.
- Click Insert > Checkbox.
- To delete checkboxes, select the checkboxes you want to remove and press Delete.
How to Add custom values in checkboxes
- Open the Google Sheets that you want to insert the checkbox.
- Select the cell in which you want to insert the checkbox.
- Click DataData validation.
- Choose the Checkbox from the dropdown in the Criteria list.
- Enter a value next to checked and unchecked.
- Choose a validation option next to invalid data.
- To show a validation message when someone hovers over the checkbox, select Show validation to help text and enter your message.
- Click Save.
How to Format the Checkbox
A checkbox is a part of the cell, you can format it just like any other cell.
- Apply a color to the cell and the checkbox will change the color from gray to the selected color.
- You can also change the font in case you want bigger checkboxes.
- You can sort and filter these since it is part of the checkbox.
